2021 HIA Australian GreenSmart Sustainable Home
Winner: Solaire Properties, Queensland
To future-proof against climate change, this Brisbane home built by Solaire Properties dramatically minimises its carbon footprint. It also maximises energy efficiency and comfort through Passive House certification.
Utilising a combination of high-performance triple glazing, superior insulation, and an airtight building envelope, this home enjoys internal humidity and temperature levels that only a Passive House can deliver.
Advanced air-conditioning and a ventilation system provides temperature controlled, pollen-filtered air throughout the home. The residence also features a 10 kW solar array, 28Kws of Redback battery onsite storage, and a variety of sustainable materials, making this a luxurious smart-home in sub-tropical Brisbane.
HIA GreenSmart Awards recognise the talent environmentally-aware HIA members. The awards recognise those who build or design environmentally-friendly homes, provide solutions to make homes more efficient or create new products for the building industry.
Solaire Properties were recognised as the winner virtually in front of a national audience when the 2021 HIA Australian GreenSmart Award winners were revealed on 14 September.
