An engineering feat, this renovation involved the precise installation of a 9-metre, 670kg beam to replace a load-bearing wall supporting the suspended upper floor slab. The team’s expert handling of major structural changes, combined with careful propping, ensured stability and prevented cracking, effectively eliminating future problems. The steel beams were precisely fabricated, coated, and manoeuvred around the pool for installation, supported by steel posts and secured with non-shrink grout before removing temporary supports. A custom sill drain was installed for the new 6m sliding door, featuring independent drainage to avoid stormwater backup. Additional renovation elements included raising the patio ceiling with a bulkhead, installing a Weathertex feature wall to match existing timber lining, and building a custom aluminium-framed barn door for durability and seamless integration. The project transformed the home’s layout and views, creating an impressive, functional space perfect for entertaining while showcasing exceptional craftsmanship and technical expertise.
