Victorian builders are facing significant regulatory, enforcement and insurance changes in 2026.

A new Statutory Insurance Scheme is commencing midyear, which will alter the way builders are assessed for Domestic Building Insurance and also the way claims are handled.

The Building and Plumbing Commission’s investigation and enforcement powers will also increase on July 1. Fully understanding the compliance and rectification order process will become more important than ever.

The 2025 version of the National Construction Code will also come into effect later this year – and while the changes aren’t as wide-ranging as the 2022 version, there are still a number of issues that Victorian builders need to be aware of.

At this series of workshops, the HIA team will get you up to speed on what you need to know about these changes, when they will be taking effect, and how you can best prepare your business.
