Finding the right apprentice shouldn't be hard. HIA Apprentices connects your business with quality candidates and takes care of the recruitment, employment and administration, so you can focus on building your business.

Bringing on an apprentice can be a great way to build your team. But for many builders, the challenge isn’t the idea, it’s everything that comes with it.

All the benefits, none of the extra responsibilities

The HIA Apprentices Program works because it takes the pressure off builders, who act as hosts, rather than employers – HIA takes care of that.

As the legal employer, we handle recruitment, placement, administration, wages and entitlements, education, training, mentoring and even disciplinary matters; all of which can be time-consuming and stressful for a busy building business.

A better way to build your business

The right apprentice can become a valuable asset to your business, while giving you the opportunity to train someone to work the way you need.

HIA Apprentices can source residential trade apprentices who are ready to contribute to your team and grow with your business. And if circumstances change, hosting through HIA gives you flexibility. We can place the apprentice with another host employer so they can continue their training, removing the stress and responsibility from your business.

With more than 30 years’ experience managing building and construction apprentices, we know how to match your business with the right apprentice.

I was a HIA apprentice myself, so I thought I would continue the journey. The team has brought great value to my business as they are goal orientated and driven to produce a good product
Shaun Hutchinson, HIA member and former HIA apprentice in Adelaide, South Australia
