If you're a current HIA Apprentice host, refer a tradie willing to take on an apprentice to HIA Apprentices.

Pass the torch

Your referral must host an apprentice for at least one month.

Promotion

HIA Apprentice Host Referral Campaign.

Promotion period

August 2024.

The Promotion will also finish if the maximum number of prizes have been awarded.

Definitions

“Current hosts” are persons, businesses or organisations who currently host under written agreement with HIA an apprentice or trainee employed by HIA.

“Referred hosts” are suitable persons, businesses or organisations who have not previously hosted a HIA apprentice or trainee and are introduced and referred to HIA by a Current host for placement opportunities. 

Who can participate

All Current hosts are eligible to participate.

During the Promotion Period, a Current host must:

(a) refer a potential new apprentice host to HIA; and

(b) the referral results in the successful placement of a HIA apprentice with the Referred host for a minimum period of one month.

Method of entry

Eligible Current hosts who satisfy the Who can Participate requirements will automatically go into the draw for a Prize. 

No additional payment or fee is required. 

Details of prize

Eligible Current hosts will receive a $250 Visa gift card at the end of the one-month hosting period.

The prize is not exchangeable for cash or other forms of credit and no refunds will be issued for the value of the prize.

Total number of prizes

The maximum number of prizes available to be won is 80 vouchers.

Maximum number of entries

Eligible Current hosts may enter more than once each time they satisfy the Method of Entry.

Prize draw and judging

Prizes are automatically allocated but must be claimed within 30 days of issue. 

The Visa gift card will be emailed or mailed via registered post.

General conditions

Agreement to terms 

1. Participation in the Promotion constitutes full and unconditional agreement to these Terms and Conditions (T & Cs) and HIA’s decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Promotion.

The Prize

2. The Prize is not transferrable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash. 

Promotion Changes and Termination

3. HIA reserves the right to modify any of the T&Cs or terminate the Promotion at any time, at its sole discretion, without liability.

4. Notice of any changes will be provided to participants in a reasonable manner.

5. Additionally, if this Promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of HIA, including but not limited to technical difficulties, unauthorised intervention or fraud, HIA reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law: (a) to disqualify any participant ; or (b) to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the promotion, as appropriate.

Warranties and exclusion of liabilities

6. Nothing in these T & Cs limit, excludes or modifies or purports to limit, exclude or modify the statutory consumer guarantees as provided under the Competition and Consumer Act (Cth), as well as any other implied warranties under the ASIC Act (Cth) or similar consumer protection laws in the States and Territories of Australia (“Non-Excludable Guarantees”). Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees, HIA (including its respective officers, employees and agents) excludes all warranties and all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Promotion.

Data protection and Privacy 

7. Entry in the Promotion may involve the sharing of personal information between Current hosts, referred Hosts, HIA and HIA employed apprentices or trainees.

8. HIA will use and handle and personal information (“PI”) collected from participants in accordance with its Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy also contains information about how participants may opt out, access, update or correct their PI, how participants may complain about a breach of the Australian Privacy Principles or any other applicable law and how those complaints will be dealt with. The Promoter will not disclose participant’s personal information to any entity outside of Australia.
