Recycling: a real example of how it's done

Casafico, a manufacturer of building products. team up with ASPIRE to gain greater access to waste materials. A real example of how recycling is done.

Casafico, a manufacturer of building products, regularly teams up with ASPIRE to gain greater access to waste materials. Casafico products contain at least 60% recycled materials and are reducing waste going into landfill. Currently Casafico are diverting:

  • 10 cubic metres of polystyrene per day
  • 1 and a half tonne of paper per day
  • 2 tonne of glass per week

This is for their coatings only, and does not include additional waste reduction achieved through the production of Polystat Fire Rated Panels, Blocks and Polystat Prefab wall coating.

It's a great example of how we have incorporated all of our products into one project. We are big on reducing waste and passionate about reducing CO2 emissions as well, rather than have several products for walls construction being delivered to a job site in multiple trips from multiple suppliers we are able to supply it all from one location. We also believe in consolidating transport emissions from cartage of waste. Aspire helps us find and build lasting connection with businesses wanting to dispose of waste responsibly and reduce their cost of disposal fees, usually waste would be collected, delivered to a sorting facility and then delivered to us while we collect waste EPS and newspapers directly, cutting out unnecessary haulage.

Our purpose for choosing recycled waste over digging for natural resources, is clear, we want to do our part for future generations, try and reverse the our industry as on the environment, the added bonus is that the materials and particle size we have carefully chosen to use instead of sand and marble also have benefits such as being lighter and more thermally efficient then its natural counterparts. Sand naturally contains iron, it cannot be completely removed, glass (which we currently purchased crushed from a recovery facility) is a much purer product and by using Coharo Coating textures you won't see the "rusting" that can occur from a sand based product, making aesthetically superior as well.
