The Housing Industry Association (HIA) and Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) are partnering together to offer a Trade Ready Program as the first step in a career in the Building and Construction industry on the Gold Coast. Whether you are a young or mature age student, get a head start for your career in 6 weeks (3 weeks of face-to-face learning and 3 weeks work experience).
This pre-employment program will help you develop your skillset and experience, offering:
- further job readiness and work preparation
- selected construction short courses to build skills and employability
- valuable industry-led work experience
- successful participants have the opportunity to connect directly with employers.
The building and construction industry is hands-on, fast-paced and where you’ll find some of your greatest mates.

The program encourages young and mature age people to get the experience to join the Construction Industry.
The program is fully funded by CSQ. This will include course fees and a Ready-for-Work Kit (safety glasses, hi vis shirts, ear muffs, voucher for safety boots and other PPE).
- An Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident of Australia
- Permanently reside in Queensland
- Not an apprentice or employed in the building and construction industry
- Certificate I in Construction (Desirable)
- Driver's Licence
- Access to a vehicle
- You may be required to submit a resume
