Averna Homes

Averna Homes

2022 HIA Australian Outdoor Project

Partnered by James Hardie

Winner: Averna Homes, Western Australia

This incredible multi-level design can be seen cascading towards the riverfront, following the natural topography of the block.

Averna Homes won the HIA Australian Outdoor Project during the ceremony of the 2022 HIA–CSR Australian Housing Awards on 23 April.

The curved-wall infinity-edge pool is undoubtedly an impressive feature and, while stunning in its design, it also forms an essential part of the retaining wall.

The alfresco space includes an outdoor kitchen, pool house, private roof garden, outdoor home theatre and a host of tiered zones, creating a functional outdoor living experience.

The striking linear structure contrasts intrinsically with natural and handmade materials used inside and out.

The extensive custom detailing and quality of workmanship impressed the judges. They remarked on the site aspect consideration and well thought-out, connected and creative design elements.

HIA’s Managing Director Graham Wolfe said the HIA-CSR Australian Housing Awards recognise the best in Australia’s residential building industry.

“The workmanship of Award winners is exceptional; demonstrated in projects that push the boundaries in design and innovation. It is my absolute pleasure to congratulate each winner for their hard work and commitment to excellence.

“My congratulations also goes to our future tradespeople – our apprentices – who strive to be the best in all their pursuits. And to the professional builders and business partners who are ahead of the game in customer service, design and innovation, building quality and business practices,” Mr Wolfe added.

The Outdoor Project category, partnered by James Hardie, is for the design, installation and project coordination of a swimming pool, spa, outdoor structure or landscaping project in a residential context.
