Meet Ashley Pribaz: Project Manager/Operations Manager at WTD Constructions, Northern Territory.
‘When I started in admin at WTD Constructions in 2020, I was determined to break into project management. I took on a Diploma in Project Management while still working full-time. It was a lot but worth every bit.
‘By 2021, I’d moved into a project coordinator and tender writer role, and by the end of 2022, I’d stepped into my current position as Project Manager/Operations Manager. The job is fast-paced, and every project is different - just how I like it.
We deal with logistics in tough conditions, from monsoonal rains to getting materials out to remote communities.
‘It’s a dual role that brings together structure, planning, problem-solving and making sure our builds run like well-oiled machines.
‘I enjoy the variety of working in the NT. The remoteness, the heat, the monsoons - they all push you to be adaptable. The key is planning ahead and being quick to problem-solve when circumstances change. That mindset has helped me handle everything from site delays to supply issues.
‘I lean heavily on our team as everyone brings different experience and strengths. I’m also guided by our Director Peter Fixter and General Manager Brett Chapman, who are both incredibly supportive.
‘Outside of work, I love fishing, camping and spending time with my family. Being out bush helps me slow down and reset. Family’s at the centre of everything I do; now more than ever since I welcomed my baby boy into the world. I was pregnant when I won HIA’s Building Woman of the Year and Young Achiever awards last year.
‘At the time, I didn’t know the gender, but I knew my world was about to change. Becoming a mum has added a whole new layer of purpose to everything I do.'
