Cork-base basins

Bolgheri is the latest freestanding washbasin produced by antoniolupi. Its vibrant sink reflects the colours of Tuscany and is combined with natural cork to create its geometric shapes.

Bolgheri is an eco-sustainable bathroom addition with a base made of recycled cork and finished by hand to obtain a soft, tactile effect. Sitting atop of the light cork base is the sink made of Cristalmood – a transparent and colourful resin developed by antoniolupi. It is both durable and can be restored to its former beauty as it ages.

The cork base is available in the natural cork colour or in Toasted Cork, a dark brown colour.

antoniolupi products are available in Australia through Minosa.

Building Now webinar

COVID-19, HomeBuilder, JobKeeper and the economy. It’s a confusing time for Australian businesses. How exactly will it all affect the residential building industry? In conjunction with our partner, Bunnings Trade, HIA has created a two-part webinar series called ‘Building Now’, designed to help builders understand current economic trends and forecasts, and how to navigate HomeBuilder in your region.

To view and download the webinar series, visit www.hia.com.au/buildingnow CPD points apply.

When nature calls

The Cinderella Incineration Toilet – launched in Australia in 2018 – requires no water or sewage to function, and removes the costs and demands of installing water and sewage hookups. The incinerating toilet turns bodily waste into a cupful of sterile ash that can be easily deposited in your household garbage.

So, how does it work? Simply place the original Cinderella bowl liners in the bowl for each visit and hit the incineration button when finished. The bowl liner and its contents drop into the closed chamber at the base of the toilet and are completely incinerated for a bacteria-free result. The chamber’s closing contraption ensures the safety of users and is child-friendly.

Clear as air

Since 2015, Daikin has been supporting airconditioning manufacturers by transitioning to using R32 refrigerant. As R32 conveys heat more efficiently, it has less environmental impact. Daikin has expanded its use to a vast majority of its split system ranges, including its new R32 Premium Inverter and R32 Inverter Ducted series.

Both series feature compact indoor unit heights of 400mm for 140–160 class Premium models and 300mm for 50–100 class Inverter models, perfect for tight ceiling spaces.
Daikin says the new series indoor units are proudly manufactured in Australia and lowers the risk of environmental harm by 66 per cent.

Eco downlights

New Zealand-based brand DOT Downlights – a part of the Pierlite portfolio – has launched its KIMBAL series of luminaires to suit a variety of spaces. The collection features four distinct lighting solutions: fixed or adjustable recessed downlights, surface-mounted downlights and spotlights.

Incorporating the best in chassis component materials, LED light sources, electronics, sustainability and ease of installation, the KIMBAL engineered range offers an elegant and functional solution. Helping to achieve the balance of performance, design and energy efficiency requirements, every element of the lighting chassis is either recyclable, reusable or compostable.

The KIMBAL engineered range is available in 3500K.

Luxury bathing

We may be moving into Spring but that welcome season can still serve a bite in the air, and so the thought of sinking into a hot bath at the end of the day remains highly tempting. To satisfy that desire, Highgrove Bathrooms has come out with the new Delano Bath.

Crafted with smooth, contoured edges and a lustrous matte black or glossy white surface, the Delano is a highlight in any bathroom. The bath is built with sanitary grade acrylic, a high-gloss easy-clean finish, and is scratch- and chemical-resistant. Additionally, the acrylic technology means you won’t be stepping onto a cold surface or need to keep topping up with hot water.

Powering ahead

Milwaukee Tool is proud to announce the new MX FUEL™ Equipment System – its latest line of cordless power tools. This ground-breaking system redefines the equipment market by delivering superior performance, run-time and durability demanded by trade users, all without the hazards associated with harmful emissions, noise, vibration and the frustrations of petrol maintenance.

By using the MX FUEL™ system, the range goes beyond the limitations of petrol and power cords, and instead operates off of one completely compatible battery system: MX FUEL™ REDLITHIUM™ batteries.

Milwaukee is dedicated to improving the lives of its customers by developing effective solutions to the onsite problems users face.

Mosaic masterpiece

Quilt is the latest concept range of mosaic tiles from Mosaico+ and Studio Irvine. Taking inspiration from traditional patchwork and stitching, the stoneware product has been designed to work visually in a uniform pattern, but looks most impactful when placed at random for a geometrical effect.

With the joint piece serving as a stoneware version of decorative stitching, an uneven layout is reminiscent of antique Venetian Seminato pavings. The design’s traditional mosaic chip is larger in size to create contemporary visual effects which can be customised every time.

Mosaico+ blends together innovative techniques, culture and experimentation to create stunningly refined mosaic tile designs.
