In an increasingly diversified new car market, Toyota remains the brand Aussies count on – thanks to its legendary reputation for reliability and performance. This year, Toyota is delivering an exciting suite of upgrades and new safety technologies to many of its most popular models. And this means your favourite ride just got even better.
Toyota Australia Vice President Sales, Marketing and Franchise Operations, Sean Hanley, says Toyota aims to drive ever-higher benchmarks for safety and sustainability. ‘We are continuously innovating to develop vehicles that meet the needs of the market both now and into the future,’ he says.
‘We continue to work towards vehicles that are safe for everyone. They maintain the standards of durability and reliability that people expect from the Toyota brand.’
‘Safety remains one of our highest priorities when developing, designing and engineering Toyota vehicles,’ Sean says. This approach is showcased in the newest Yaris and Yaris Cross SUV, which now boast a range of driver-assistance technologies to improve safety for both occupants and other road users.
Some of these innovations include a low-speed acoustic vehicle alert system. It warns other road users and pedestrians when the vehicle moves using electric power. A parking support brake automatically brakes if a crossing vehicle, object or pedestrian is detected when reversing and a blind spot monitor with safe exit assist.
Yaris’s safety upgrade is also complemented by several small equipment upgrades to provide added comfort and convenience on the road.
Known for its fuel efficiency, spacious interior, and safety features, Toyota Corolla Cross is a subcompact SUV that combines Corolla's versatility with the practicality and higher ground clearance of an SUV. All Corolla Cross models in Australia are hybrid, combining a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor and battery.
A new and upgraded Corolla Cross line-up will soon be zooming into Australian showrooms. This range is headlined by the dynamically focused GR Sport grade, along with the existing GX, GXL and Atmos XXX, all with increased standard specification. Corolla Cross has also had an exterior makeover, sporting a sleek new integrated mesh grille design and a revised LED headlight signature for GXL grades and up.
The go-anywhere LandCrusier will effortlessly get you from the building site to the bush and everywhere in between. And just when you thought this Aussie stalwart couldn’t get any better, Toyota has launched the new LandCruiser 300 Series, which boasts multiple improvements to safety and multimedia technology designed to make this celebrated off-roader safer, more comfortable and more connected.
The 300 Series is now fitted with the newest Toyota Safety Sense driver assistance technologies, such as lane trace assist with steering wheel vibration, emergency steering assist and the emergency driving stop system, designed to provide comprehensive protection for occupants and other road users. And the revamped in-car multimedia system features wireless Apple CarPlay®3 and Android Auto™4.
‘This new range of upgrades to the line-up offer valuable safety, comfort and technology improvements which customers are sure to appreciate,’ Sean says.
As the largest and most powerful vehicle in Toyota’s Australian line-up, the Tundra pick-up is the ultimate worksite buddy for tradies: offering unrivalled space along with an impressive road presence.
The Tundra Limited first hit Australian showrooms last November, after a six-year program to locally re-engineer the US-built pick-up for Australia’s right-hand drive environment.
Toyota has recently expanded the Tundra range, and the new flagship Platinum grade is now on sale across the country.
The Tundra Platinum is distinguished by a number of exterior styling enhancements for a bolder look, as well as luxury interior appointments such as leather-accented upholstery and front massaging seats.
Sean says the introduction of the Tundra Platinum demonstrates Toyota’s commitment to providing a full range of vehicles that cater to all Australians’ needs and tastes.
‘The Tundra remains a niche product in our line-up but for those Australians who desire the size, power and performance of a full-size pick-up to meet their work or lifestyle needs, we are proud to offer them a premium product built to the highest standards.’
