Toyota: something for everyone

Toyota: something for everyone

{{ tag.label }} {{ tag.label }} $vuetify.icons.faTimes
All-electric, hybrid, trusted workhorse or family wagon. Toyota has industry-leading reliable solutions for all your vehicle needs.

Whether your needs are worksite-heavy or family-friendly, Toyota has a trusted solution for everyone.

As consumer car needs are becoming increasingly diverse, so is the need for choice. Toyota's approach means businesses can consider different powertrains and vehicle formats while still choosing a vehicle designed around the demands of work.

Get know the BEV HiLux

Toyota’s first-ever battery-electric light commercial vehicle (LCV), the HiLux BEV, brings new power to one of Australia's most recognisable workhorse nameplates.

According to John Pappas Toyota VP national sales, marketing and franchise operations the breakthrough Hilux BEV has been designed with the construction sector in mind. ‘The BEV is designed to help reduce tailpipe emissions while retaining the signature quality, durability and reliability inherent to Toyota.’

To ensure the HiLux BEV can withstand our harsh climate and any worksite conditions, Toyota put it through its paces in a comprehensive and sustained testing program, which included mine sites in temperatures nearing 50C to ensure its performance matched the trusted diesel model.

John says, ‘We believe offering Australian businesses and private buyers a choice of a HiLux with zero tailpipe emissions is a crucial step forward in providing the right powertrain for the right application, at the right time.’

Available in SR and SR5 Double-Cab variants, the HiLux BEV combines 144kW of electric power, a claimed driving range of up to 315km and up to 2,000kg of braked towing capacity*. The SR is available as both a Double-Cab Pick-Up and Cab-Chassis, while the SR5 is ordered as a Double-Cab Pick-Up.

The dual-motor AWD comprises a front motor producing 82kW and 206Nm, and a more powerful rear unit capable of 129kW and 269Nm of output. Combined system output for the HiLux BEV is 144kW, with torque distribution variably controlled between the front and rear axles during on-road driving to provide high-traction full-time AWD.

For off-roading, Toyota’s sophisticated Multi-Terrain Select traction control system offers six different drive modes to suit the conditions underfoot, adjusting the amount of wheel slip to keep the vehicle moving in low-traction situations.

Inside, the SR has fabric upholstery, all-weather floor mats, urethane steering wheel, shift-by-wire gear shifter, dual-zone automatic climate control, automatic windows, smart entry and start, and a 1500W inverter in the centre console box, capable of powering small appliances.

The SR5 pick-up adds high-grade LED headlamps with auto-leveling, auto-retracting and heated exterior mirrors, LED foglamps and tail-lights, rear privacy glass and painted hood moulding and radiator lower grille. Inside, more luxurious features include leather-accented upholstery, heated front seats with powered driver’s adjustment and two-way lumbar support, heated steering wheel, carpeted floor, and an electro chromatic rearview mirror.

The full suite of Toyota Safety Sense active safety features, including Pre-Collision System autonomous emergency braking, dynamic radar cruise control, lane trace assist, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking support brake (pick-up only), road sign assist and automatic high beam are standard on the HiLux BEV, along with a panoramic view monitor, front and rear parking sensors (pick-up only), tyre pressure monitor and eight SRS airbags.

‘For businesses ready to explore battery-electric capability, it provides another option to consider without stepping away from the familiar ute format,’ John says.

A workhorse for where your business is heading

Work smarter, whatever the job: Toyota’s workhorses give HIA Members more choice.

For many businesses, the move towards more sustainable motoring won't happen overnight. Different vehicles may suit different applications, and the priorities of a builder, electrician, landscaper or rural contractor can vary considerably.

For Australian builders and trades, there is no one-size-fits-all work vehicle. The right choice depends on the work you do, what you need to carry or tow, where the job takes you - and increasingly, how you want your business to approach the transition to lower-emission motoring.

This is where Toyota’s range of work vehicles comes into its own. From proven diesel workhorses and heavy-duty capability to hybrid power and the arrival of the all-new HiLux BEV, there are more ways for businesses to find a vehicle that fits the way they work.

Sustainability doesn't have to mean compromising on capability

For HIA Members thinking about the next vehicle for their business, the conversation around sustainability is becoming increasingly relevant — but so are practicality, payload, towing, range, access and the realities of a working day.

The arrival of the HiLux BEV adds another option for businesses ready to investigate battery-electric motoring, while Toyota's broader range continues to cater for businesses with different operational requirements. That means the question isn't simply which fuel is right; it is also which vehicle is right for the way your business works?

Your next workhorse doesn’t have to look exactly like your last one. And with HIA Member Perks, it could cost less to put the right Toyota to work.

The premium perks

With over 50 years in the Australian market, Toyota is Australia’s best-selling car brand. For the same five decades HIA and Toyota have had a well-established partnership.

But did you know your HIA membership could make a difference to the bottom line?

For a small business, purchasing a work vehicle is a significant decision. The vehicle needs to earn its place in the business, whether that means carrying tools and materials, getting a crew to site, towing equipment or providing a mobile workspace.

That's why the HIA Member Perks Toyota Association Fleet discount is worth remembering when it's time to upgrade or add to your fleet. Eligible HIA Members can access Association Fleet pricing on selected Toyota vehicles, potentially delivering significant savings for their business.

Whether you're investigating the new HiLux BEV, looking for a versatile HiLux, need the cargo capacity of a HiAce, the heavy-duty capability of a LandCruiser 70 Series or the towing muscle of a Tundra, your HIA membership can help make the next vehicle decision work harder for your business.

  • HiLux: the adaptable all-rounder: For builders, landscapers and contractors, the HiLux can provide the flexibility of a ute or cab-chassis, with 4x2 and 4x4 options and a range of configurations suited to different trades. Its tray can also be tailored to your needs, with options such as toolboxes, canopies and service bodies helping turn the vehicle into a mobile base for the working day.
  • HiAce: when the vehicle is the workshop: For electricians, plumbers, couriers and other trades that need to keep equipment protected and organised, the HiAce offers a different approach. With substantial cargo space and practical access through sliding side doors and rear barn doors, it can be configured with shelving, racking, drawers and security partitions — effectively creating a mobile workshop that travels from job to job.
  • LandCruiser 70 Series: Built for demanding environments. For rural contractors, heavy construction and businesses working in remote locations, the requirements can go well beyond the suburban job site. The LandCruiser 70 Series is designed for heavy-duty applications where durability, load-carrying capability and on-road performance are central to the job.
  • Tundra: When towing is the priority. Tundra’s 4,500kg braked towing capacity and i-FORCE MAX 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 hybrid powertrain, producing 326kW and 790Nm, make it a consideration for businesses regularly moving substantial loads. Its spacious CrewMax cabin also provides room to work between jobs, with technology including dual digital displays and an integrated electronic trailer brake controller.
  • BZ4X: For all the family: Toyota’s bZ4X battery-electric SUV family has expanded with the addition of the all-new bZ4X Touring flagship grade, offering increased cargo volume and high performance. The new Touring grade joins the existing bZ4X range which was recently upgraded with improvements to driving range, power output and specification, all while providing even greater value to customers. The bZ4X Touring represents a compelling prospect for EV customers wanting increased luggage space for the whole family, with the additional benefit of increased ride height and 280kW of peak system output from its dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain.
