A true showstopper in every sense of the word, this display home from Ultra Living Homes was created with vision, imagination and exceptional care.

With its striking curved facade, soaring arched windows and pristine rendered finish, La Casa Eden 54 by Ultra Living Homes effortlessly captures all the glamour and romance of Mediterranean-inspired architecture. But its beauty is more than skin-deep, with the crisply honed interiors unfolding around a light-filled central courtyard.

Ultra Living Homes was established by Peter and Megan Nastrom nine years ago and quickly gained a reputation across the Gold Coast and South-east Queensland for quality and innovation. ‘We are constantly seeking new ways to blend functionality, style and the latest building trends to meet the diverse needs of modern Australian families,’ Peter says.

La Casa Eden 54, with its carefully considered layout, captures the company’s adventurous yet considerate philosophy, which is what prompted Peter and Megan to enter it into the HIA awards. ‘This is our flagship display home. We were super-proud of this one,’ Megan explains. ‘It’s the largest we've ever showcased. It has a beautiful internal courtyard, which we believe is a first for a display home. We knew it was different and unique.’

‘This is our flagship display home. We were super-proud of this one,’ Megan explains.

Despite its 506-square-metre size, the fivebedroom residence feels incredibly cohesive thanks to a flowing, well-zoned layout, which ensures every room takes in views of the courtyard. The judges were impressed by the inclusion of a self-contained studio, which delivers the flexibility to meet families’ needs. The home also features a cinema room, home office and expansive outdoor living areas.

The stunning interiors flow seamlessly from the exterior facade, with the use of feature stonework and timber providing visual fluidity. It also showcases up-to-the-minute fixtures and finishes. Megan describes Ultra Living as ‘early adopters’, always on the lookout for new products and trends, which she uses as a starting point. ‘I like supporting our suppliers. When there’s a new product out there, we find out how to effectively incorporate it.’

In La Casa Eden, she says the gunmetal tapware from Reece formed the basis of her design inspiration, along with Beaumont’s Chevron Brazilian White tile, a new arrival from Italy. Underpinning it all is the stonework, which carries through from the front facade: ‘It’s all purposeful – everything has a relationship.’
Megan says that winning the 2025 HIA Australian Display Home is a ‘pinnacle’ for Ultra Living Homes. ‘It’s the amazing recognition and this extends to our entire team. Without them, we don't get awards like this.’ When asked how the award might impact their business, she adds: ‘It doesn't change what we're about or who we are. It motivates us to push forward more, to push those boundaries, and create the next “wow” property.’ www.ultralivinghomes.com.au
