“The outlook for dwelling commencements in the Northern Territory is set to recover in 2024/25 from low levels,” stated HIA Executive Director – Northern Territory, Luis Espinoza.

Members may recall that in December 2023 WHS Ministers agreed to ban the use, supply and manufacture of engineered stone from 1 July 2024, however how this would be implemented was unclear.
“Today’s announcement by the Tasmanian Government of a transition period of six months from the 1 July 2024 effective date for the implementation on the ban of engineered stone, is generally welcomed,” said Stuart Collins, HIA Executive Director Tasmania.
