HIA Newcastle HOMESHOW this weekend

Media release
The Hunter region's largest and most successful home and renovation show, the HIA Newcastle HOMESHOW, returns this Saturday, May 16, 2026, offering a full day of inspiration, expert guidance and entertainment for the whole family.

Hosted at the HIA Home Inspirations centre in Mayfield West, the free event will feature more than 100 exhibitors showcasing the latest products, services and innovations in building and renovation.

HIA Executive Director – Hunter, Craig Jennion, said the HOMESHOW is the ideal starting point for anyone planning a home project.

“With over 100 businesses on display, this free event is the perfect starting point for anyone looking to build, renovate, or simply find inspiration for their next project,” Mr Jennion said.

“All attendees can go into the draw to win the major prize on the day, a $10,000 hand-crafted timber furniture voucher, thanks to Duramen Designs."

Visitors can engage directly with industry professionals and compare a wide range of products and services—all under the one roof.

Event highlights include:

  • Ask an Expert: Free, all-day access to building and renovation professionals ready to answer questions.
  • Colour Consultants: Complimentary advice from colour consultations, courtesy of Bristol Paints.
  • Community Support: Sausage sizzle BBQ supporting the HIA Charitable Foundation, plus an on-site coffee van.
  • Family-Friendly Entertainment: Keep the kids entertained with face painting, a petting zoo, and a special appearance from Bob the Builder.
  • Live Broadcast: NEW FM will be broadcasting live throughout the day.

Mr Jennion said the diversity of exhibitors ensures visitors gain valuable insights and practical advice.

“With the diversity of exhibitors and experts available, attendees will be able to compare an enormous range of products and services all under the one roof,” he said.

“If you’re thinking of starting a project or are in the middle of one and need advice on how to proceed, the HIA Home Inspirations centre continues to be the premier destination for Hunter renovators, new home buyers and trade,” Mr Jennion concluded.
