Building excellence showcased in the Far North

Media Release
Cairns builder Eastbuild Designer Homes is the winner of the 2021 HIA Cairns Home of the Year for an impressive nine-bedroom home announced tonight at the HIA-Pioneer North Queensland Cairns Housing and Kitchen & Bathroom Awards.

The winning bespoke resort-style residence has a breathtaking 25-metre pool boasting the finest stone and marble finishes. The detail throughout the home was carefully considered and delivered with perfection. According to one judge the home “took their breath away”.

Eastbuild Designer Homes had a night to remember, taking out an impressive haul of awards for the luxurious home in Palm Cove including Custom Built Home of the Year, Bathroom of the Year, Outdoor Project of the Year, Custom Built Home over $1,000,001, and New Bathroom Over 8sqm. Together with Pacific Kitchens, they also
won an additional three awards for the joinery projects in the home including New Kitchen over $50,001, Outdoor Kitchen and Interior Cabinetry.

Shane Moon, HIA Cairns & FNQ Manager, stated that the awards program brought together the best the region has to offer in what is a strong, competitive and flourishing industry.

“The HIA awards program is seen as a demonstration of the local building industry’s commitment to their clients and the home buying public by delivering homes with the highest standard of workmanship,” Shane stated.

“The winning projects are second-to-none and reveal the top quality homes being built in far north Queensland. Winners can be truly proud of their achievements,” he concluded.

MiHaven’s Eric Latham was awarded North Queensland Apprentice of the Year whilst MiHaven also took home three awards for Townhouse/Villa of the Year, Specialised Housing of the Year and Townhouse/Villa Development in their first year entering the awards.

A visually stunning black kitchen with Huon Pine features saw Artizan Cabinets take home the prestigious Kitchen of the Year along with Kitchen Design of the Year and Renovated Kitchen over $25,001.

Major winners now progress to the HIA-CSR North Queensland Housing and Kitchen and Bathroom Awards in Townsville on 12 November to see who is crowned North Queensland’s best.

HIA Awards recognise building and design excellence; showcasing innovation, technology and modern trends in new homes, kitchens and bathrooms.
