“This year marked the 52nd anniversary of the NSW awards and the first live event in over two years due to COVID. It was great to see so many entrants and partners networking and celebrating with staff and family at ICC on Saturday night” said David Bare, Executive Director HIA NSW.
The coveted 2022 HIA-CSR NSW Home of the Year award went to K2 Built for their build which the judges described as a ‘masterpiece’. The same home also took out the Custom Built Home of the Year category.
Kitchen of the Year was taken out by Studio Minosa and Panache Kitchens and Bathroom of the Year by NSync Constructions.
The HIA NSW Roger Pysden Apprentice of the Year went to a rising star in our industry, Bethany Mercieca from Blue Eco Homes. ‘Committed to safety, Bethany has a level of competency well above her apprentice level. Bethany speaks to young people at schools, is involved in industry committees, and is a great example to peers’, said Mr Bare.
Another important category is the NSW Small Business Management award which went to Jenny Matek from AM Bathrooms + Projects.
Tempo Living, McDonald Jones Homes, GJ Gardner Homes – Wollongong and Montgomery Homes all picked up awards in the highly contested display homes categories with MOJO taking out Display Home of the Year.
Eden Brae Homes won the Professional Major Builder award with Hudson Homes taking out Professional Medium Builder. Blue Eco Homes won the Professional Small Builder award for the third year in a row.
Helm took out Apartment Complex of the Year. The Renovation / Addition Project of the year was awarded to JJ Building Company and Townhouse / Villa of the Year went to Futureflip.
“Congratulations to all this year’s winners and finalists for outstanding achievements in workmanship, innovation and design. The winners of major categories can look forward to progressing to HIA’s national awards next year and I wish them every success” concluded Mr Bare.
