Brisbane builder Jager Build win top award for Sunshine Coast home

Media release
Jager Build wins the 2025 HIA Sunshine Coast & Wide Bay Home of the Year for its Horseshoe Hill project positioned high on the Sunshine Coast hinterland.

The result was announced in front of an audience of South-East Queensland’s leading residential builders, designers and manufacturers at the annual HIA Sunshine Coast & Wide Bay Housing Awards.

Jager Build’s aptly named Horseshoe Hill project is an impeccable home that balances structure with openness purpose built for life on the land. It is more than a residence, but a retreat shaped by seamless workmanship, breathtaking views and effortless architectural design.

Horseshoe Hill is bold, unique and stands as a true testament to residential construction.

In a big night for the company Jager Build won two other major awards, HIA Sunshine Coast Custom Built Home over $3 million and HIA Sunshine Coast & Wide Bay Custom Built Home of the Year, and will now compete at the HIA Queensland Housing and Kitchen & Bathroom Awards.

2025 HIA Sunshine Coast & Wide Bay Home of the Year is partnered by TRUECORE steel.

HIA recognised further outstanding projects and businesses on the night:

Ryan Designer Homes won the 2025 HIA Sunshine Coast/Wide Bay Renovation / Addition Project of the Year for their transformation of a once tired home into a spectacular, modern luxurious residence.  The innovative design shows great detail in the structural components and material choices. From the seamless indoor-outdoor living, sauna and infinity pool, golf room and spectacular water views, this home is a true testament to refined, luxurious, contemporary living.

Stroud Homes Wide Bay won the 2025 HIA Sunshine Coast/Wide Bay Display Home for a beautiful family home that offers open plan living and a seamless indoor outdoor entertaining area. From the outdoor pool and firepit, to the well laid-out media room, this home has been carefully thought out to capture your attention in every location.

Kate Anderson Design won the 2025 HIA Sunshine Coast/Wide Bay Kitchen Design for their bold, sophisticated, monochromatic kitchen design that serves as the heart of the home. The showstopping natural stone with strong veining and tonal movement serves as a dramatic focal point across both the island and splashback. The black and white tones layered throughout create subtle texture to balance the refined, minimal palette.

Besal were awarded the 2025 HIA Sunshine Coast/Wide Bay People’s Choice Home of the Year –voted favourite by local consumers. This stunning Hamptons-inspired home was designed for a large family, equipped with communal spaces for gatherings or solitude. Generous wrap around balconies spans both levels of the home. Each level has an outdoor living area which overlooks the pool, lawn and fire pit area, making for effortless entertaining and indoor-outdoor living.

HIA Queensland Executive Director Michael Roberts said, “This year’s awards once again demonstrate the remarkable quality of design and workmanship available in the Sunshine Coast and Wide Bay region. Jager Build should be very proud of this year’s win, taking home the top prize in a hotly contested competition.

“We’re extremely proud of the work being produced by HIA members and congratulate all the winners and finalists. We are also grateful to the partners who support this vitally important industry.

“Winners of major categories can look forward to progressing to HIA’s Queensland Housing and Kitchen & Bathroom Awards on 14 November and I wish them every success,” concluded Mr Roberts
