The outstanding achievements of women across Western Australia’s residential building industry were recognised at the 2025 HIA–Jason Windows Western Australian Building Women Awards, held at The Westin Perth on Friday 31 October, with this year’s top honour, the 2025 HIA -Jason Windows Western Australian Building Woman of the Year awarded to Jessica Berry, Managing Director of modular building company PIQUE.
Jessica’s career is defined by vision, resilience and an unwavering drive to keep raising the bar. She has led teams through complex challenges, delivering growth, innovation and award-winning results while never losing sight of the people at the heart of the business. Her bold approach to modular construction is reshaping how housing is designed and delivered, while her leadership continues to empower others and build a more inclusive future for the sector.
HIA WA Executive Director Michael McGowan said Jessica is a leading force in modular construction and an inspiring advocate for future generations of women in our industry.
“Her determination to innovate while empowering others is exactly what these awards are here to celebrate,” he said.
Demonstrating her deep commitment to continuous improvement and cultural change, Jessica was also recognised as the HIA WA Innovation and Change Leader. In a further endorsement of her leadership, PIQUE received the HIA WA Inclusion and Advancement of Women Award for actively creating long-term career pathways for women in management, operations, trades and apprenticeships. The business’ commitment to flexibility, mentoring and a culture grounded in respect ensures women can thrive through all stages of life and career.
The awards also recognised a number of other remarkable women for their contributions to the industry. Amelia Richardson of Midland Brick received the HIA WA Achievement in Manufacturing and Supply Award for driving major efficiencies, sustainability improvements and new product innovation across multiple production facilities. Kelly Bongiovanni of Beaumonde Homes was named HIA WA Administration Executive, credited with improving and refining operational performance while also leading the initiative to enhance the client journey.
The HIA WA Business Development Professional Award went to Stephanie Cummins of Constructive Software, whose strategic leadership has delivered significant revenue growth, strengthened service delivery and opened more opportunities for women in construction-focused careers.
Celebrated for her collaborative and empowering leadership style, Lauren Devine of Evoke Living Homes was honoured as HIA WA Business Mentor / Leader, guiding her team and encouraging women to step confidently into leadership pathways.
The HIA WA Executive Leadership Award was presented to Rose Ricciardello of Weststyle, an inspiring leader who has strengthened business performance while maintaining a workplace culture built on trust, respect and shared learning.
Debbie Bute of Leading Energy | ESD was acknowledged as HIA WA Professional Business Woman, having grown a thriving consultancy through technical expertise, strategic thinking and a commitment to mentoring and developing talent.
Recognised as an emerging leader, Katherine Murcott of Evoke Living Homes received the HIA WA Young Achiever / Trailblazer Award for her ability to bridge design, sales and operational delivery, while actively contributing to the future of the construction industry.
Mr McGowan said the collective achievements of the winners and finalists reflect the professionalism and talent that already exists across the sector.
“Women are with us in every role and at every stage of home building — leading businesses, supporting clients, driving innovation, leading manufacture, delivering projects and working on the tools.
“The achievements recognised today reflect not only individual excellence, but the strength and future direction of our industry which is stronger when women are supported to lead, build, innovate and thrive, and today’s winners are shaping the future of home building in Western Australia.”

The latest ABS data released today shows that home building approvals in the ACT remain underwhelming, which reaffirms that relief from affordability pressures is still a long way off.
Tasmania’s building and construction sector is showing strong signs of growth, with the latest Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) data revealing building approvals have reached their highest level in two years.
“The decline in the cash rate and ongoing population growth is finally flowing through to a rise in building approvals,” stated HIA Senior Economist Tom Devitt.
