The prestigious awards, partnered by ARC The Reinforcing Company, showcase the best in design, innovation and workmanship in residential housing, kitchen and bathrooms from across Cairns, Townsville and Central Queensland.
The coveted 2025 HIA North Queensland Home of the Year went to Cairn’s builder Ash Moseley Homes, for their stunning luxurious Pine Ridge Retreat residence. Featuring four pavilion-style rooflines linked by glass walkways and a cantilevered main level, the home takes full advantage of its hillside position, capturing panoramic city views and glimpses of lush rainforest.
“This home redefines luxury living through its bold design and meticulous craftsmanship and is a stunning example of scale, sophistication, attention to detail and exceptional workmanship,” Peter Fry, HIA North Queensland Executive Director commented.
“Predominantly built on one level, the home cantilevers over the ridge with an open-plan design that seamlessly connects all areas, creating a sense of grandeur and openness.”
Mr Fry described Pine Ridge Retreat as “a masterpiece that perfectly balances functionality and architectural ambition with the art of luxurious living.”
HIA North Queensland Kitchen of the Year went to Elegant Kitchens & Joinery and John Munro Builder for their high-end designed kitchen with everyday functionality, featuring stone benchtops, sleek cabinetry and integrated appliances. The use of smart technology and a hidden butler’s pantry creates a functional workspace, balancing beauty and performance.
CCW Cabinet Works Cairns were awarded HIA North Queensland Bathroom of the Year for their work on Pine Ridge Retreat alongside Ash Moseley Homes. The luxurious bathroom pairs sleek design with natural tranquillity featuring a floating vanity and a freestanding bathtub near floor-to-ceiling windows offering panoramic views.
HIA North Queensland Kitchen of the Year and Bathroom of the Year were partnered by Townsville Hardware.
HIA Professional Small Builder / Renovator went to Townsville builder New Home Solutions Qld who have earned its reputation through consistent quality and service, supported by strong client referrals. Known for delivering highly personalised service, it combines tailored solutions with advanced systems to manage every stage of the process efficiently.
This year saw the public have their say with the introduction of the HIA North Queensland People’s Choice Home, awarded to John Munro Builder.
Earlier in the night the 2025 HIA Townsville-Central Queensland Housing and Kitchen & Bathroom Awards saw high quality projects from Rockhampton, Mackay, Whitsunday’s and Townsville recognised and rewarded for their exceptional workmanship.
John Munro Builder won 2025 HIA Townsville-Central Queensland Home of the Year for their Lynwater project. This display home is a bold statement in modern design, centered around a sparkling pool that enhances seamless indoor–outdoor living. Natural materials, curved walls, bespoke joinery and the use of smart tech create understated
luxury. An outdoor kitchen and sustainable features like Sunergy® glass deliver next-level functionality, innovation and liveability.
Mackay builder Hotondo Homes Mackay took home three awards including 2025 HIA Townsville-Central Queensland Custom Built Home $750,000 to $1 million.
“The projects in this year’s Awards were of an extremely high calibre and demonstrate quality and workmanship and our members should be proud of the work they produce.
The projects are nothing short of outstanding and it is a real credit to the finalists and winners,” Mr Fry said.
“We are extremely proud of the work being produced by HIA members and congratulate all the winners and finalists. We are grateful to all our partners for their continued support of the residential building industry,” concluded Mr Fry.
All major winners now progress to represent the North Queensland region on the national stage at the 2026 HIA Australian Housing Awards on the Gold Coast in April 2026.
