Located on the site of a former manor house in Harkaway, the home is undeniably grand in scale, with a façade that evokes classical architecture. Inside, multiple skylights bring natural light to all areas of the home, and expansive glazing captures stunning views to the rear.
HIA’s judges noted the builder’s clear passion for this project shines throughout, with all trades completing their work to the highest of standards.
All the hallmarks of modern luxury living have been integrated into this home, as have sustainable technologies such as rooftop solar, heat pumps and rainwater harvesting. This project was the final design of the late Luigi Grollo, and it is an outstanding example of housing that honours the past while also looking towards the future.
“HIA congratulates Grollo Homes on this award,” says HIA Victoria Executive Director Keith Ryan. “The judges described the detailing on this home as ‘outstanding’ and ‘next level’, and the entire Grollo Homes team can be justifiably proud.”
Grollo Homes won six other awards on the night, including Custom Built Home of the Year and Bathroom of the Year.
Other winners on the night included:
“HIA Awards showcase the best of the best in the residential building industry, and the outstanding quality of work being carried out by HIA members,” says Mr Ryan. “Many exceptional homes have been recognised in the 2025 HIA Victorian Housing and Kitchen & Bathroom Awards, and HIA congratulates all of the winners and finalists.”
HIA thanks its awards partners E&S, aluplast, Ampol, Artusi, Australian Gas Networks, Bunnings Trade, Caroma, Colorbond, Cook & Bathe, CSR, Design 10 by Hardings, Forest One, Hettich, HIA Insurance Services, Hydrowood, Isuzu, Metroll, Mitre 10 Trade, Residentia, Rheem, Six Star Plus, Tradelink and Weathertex.
Treasurer Jim Chalmers handed down the 2026-2027 Federal Budget tonight which was couched as his most transformative budget since the ALP came to government in 2022.
The Federal Budget will make Australia’s housing shortage worse by reducing the supply of new homes at a time when the country is already struggling to house a growing population.
“The Housing Industry Association (HIA) welcomes today’s Federal Budget announcement of a half a billion dollar investment to modernise environmental approvals that will help deliver a faster, technology enabled and fit for purpose system that supports urgently needed housing supply,” said HIA Managing Director, Jocelyn Martin.
The Housing Industry Association (HIA) has welcomed the news that the 2026/27 Federal Budget will invest an additional $2 billion over four years to fund critical infrastructure, which will support the construction of up to 65,000 new homes.
