The coveted 2025 HIA Structerre Western Australian Home of the Year was awarded to Giorgi for an extraordinary residence in Peppermint Grove. Drawing inspiration from Tuscan architecture and reinterpreting it through a contemporary design lens, the home impressed the judges with its sophisticated detailing, functionality and strong connection to its site. A grand entry colonnade creates a sense of arrival, opening into expansive living spaces that capture views over Freshwater Bay. A central courtyard and terraced pool reinforce seamless indoor–outdoor flow, while high ceilings, travertine, reclaimed timber and finely detailed cabinetry introduce warmth and timeless character. The project also received HIA WA Custom Built Home of the Year, highlighting its exceptional execution and livability.
2025 HIA WA Kitchen of the Year was awarded to Western Cabinets for their North Beach project. Defined by refined detailing and exceptional craftsmanship, the kitchen combines rich walnut cabinetry with chalky grey surfaces and matte black accents. A concealed sliding door leads to a fully equipped scullery, maintaining a streamlined aesthetic, while a concrete island designed for both entertaining and everyday living anchors the space. It was also awarded HIA WA New Kitchen of the Year.
Weststyle received 2025 HIA WA Bathroom of the Year for a master suite in Coolbinia designed as a calming sanctuary. The space flows from walk-in robe to ensuite to a secluded bathing court, offering privacy and a sensory experience shaped by light, texture and proportion. Consistency of materials and subtle spatial transitions ensure harmony and elegance throughout.
Display homes play a key role in the new home market and Averna Homes was awarded the prestigious Golden Key Award for Western Australian Display Home of the Year for their ‘Villa Scala’ home in South Perth. Judges praised the thoughtful indoor–outdoor connections and the home’s sophisticated, versatile design. Averna Homes was also awarded HIA WA Spec Home of the Year for a refined family sanctuary in Applecross.
Other major categories were strongly contested. The Rural Building Company’s project in Oldbury was named HIA WA Project Home of the Year, offering a peaceful retreat with soaring vaulted ceilings and gabled windows that flood the living areas with natural light.
