Jodie McKenna from Buildable Approvals took out the HIA Queensland Building Woman of the Year award.
Judges commented that “Jodie clearly stands out as a leader in our industry, and her leadership impacts beyond the workplace. Jodie does not simply encourage growth, she engineers it through daily leadership behaviours, visibility and example. Grounded in empathy and accountability, Jodie is a truly deserving winner of the 2026 HIA Queensland Building Woman of the Year’.
Jodie was also named the winner of the HIA Queensland Business Mentor / Leader Award.
“Over the past twelve years, the HIA’s Building Woman Program has recognised the excellence of Queensland women working in all facets of home building business,” said HIA Executive Director Queensland, Mike Roberts.
“Our industry has always relied upon talented, hardworking women to ensure more Queenslanders can get a roof over their heads.
“Without the contribution of skilled and dedicated women, the home building industry simply does not function, and our winners this year clearly demonstrate the high value that women are bringing to the table when it comes to getting on with the work of building more homes to tackle the current housing crisis,” Mr Roberts said.
