The result was announced in front of an audience of leading residential builders, designers and industry suppliers at the RACV Torquay Resort.
The winning project is a stunning home that has been built in tune with – and is deeply connected to – its natural surroundings. Its façade matches off-form concrete with treated cedar cladding, a combination that will retain its charm over time while also withstanding the harsh coastal conditions.
Inside the home, high windows and a central courtyard bring in abundant natural light, and the home enjoys seamless indoor-outdoor connection. It features a warm and inviting material palette, with Tasmanian oak doors, shelving and bespoke joinery identified by the judges as standout features.
“The judges praised the significant care, dedication and attention to detail that the builder has shown on this project,” said HIA Victoria Executive Director Keith Ryan. “This is a beautiful home that will be enjoyed for years to come, and it is a fantastic example of the kind of high quality building work HIA members are completing for their clients.”
