Tyson Building Group has capped a spectacular night at the 2026 HIA Sunshine Coast & Wide Bay Housing and Kitchen & Bathroom Awards, with its landmark waterfront residence ‘Azura’ crowned Home of the Year and claiming six additional category wins.
The region’s brightest residential building talent took centre stage as leading builders, designers and manufacturers gathered to celebrate the winners of the prestigious 2026 awards.
Bold, sculptural and exquisitely crafted, Azura is a showstopping achievement in residential design and construction. Ambitious architecture, flawless bespoke joinery and sophisticated engineering combine to deliver the home’s most complex features with apparent ease. Grand in scale yet effortless to live in, the residence creates a seamless connection between indoors and out, luxury and functionality, and architecture and its waterfront setting. Executed with extraordinary precision and attention to detail, Azura sets a new benchmark for building excellence across the Sunshine Coast and Wide Bay regions.
Azura dominated the awards, adding New Bathroom Over $50,000, Bathroom of the Year, New Kitchen Over $80,000, Kitchen of the Year, Sunshine Coast Custom Built Home Over $10 million and Custom Built Home of the Year to the night’s highest honour.
Beyond the standout success for Tyson Building Group, the awards spotlighted an exceptional field of projects and businesses across the region’s leading housing, renovation, kitchen and bathroom categories.
Brighton Homes secured Display Home Over $600,000 and Display Home of the Year for its Aria 42 display home, impressing judges with contemporary design, a highly functional layout and strong appeal for modern family living.

Its award-winning Bosque and Orelia projects combined exceptional craftsmanship with considered, innovative design.
Shine Building also celebrated a major awards haul, taking out Custom Built Home $2 million to $2.6 million, Townhouse Development and Townhouse of the Year. Its KYMA development captured the judges’ attention with striking coastal architecture, refined finishes and a sophisticated vision for contemporary townhouse living.
HIA Queensland Executive Director Michael Roberts said the winning projects demonstrated the depth of excellence across the region’s residential building industry.
“The homes, renovations and residential projects recognised across the Sunshine Coast and Wide Bay showcase the exceptional talent, innovation and professionalism of our local builders, designers and trades,” Mr Roberts said.
“Tyson Building Group should be immensely proud to claim the prestigious Sunshine Coast & Wide Bay Home of the Year. Azura is a remarkable demonstration of what can be achieved when bold design, outstanding craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail come together.
“We congratulate every winner and finalist on their achievements, and thank our valued award partners for their continued support of the residential building industry. Major category winners will now advance to the Queensland Housing and Kitchen & Bathroom Awards, and we wish them every success on the state stage,” Mr Roberts said.
