Understand how these changes could impact you and your business

There have been some important changes to standards in the National Construction Code (NCC) for products in kitchens, bathroom and wet areas. Before embarking on your next new build or renovation, consider how these updates will impact your design, construction techniques or product choices.

What are the changes which could be overlooked?

With so much attention on the major changes to NCC 2022, you may have missed some other significant changes to the standards for plumbing installations, the safety of gas appliances and clarifications for construction materials and kitchens and bathrooms. These changes can have an impact on home design, material selections and scheduling of works.

Engineered stone ban

Updated timeframes for the transition to lead-free plumbing products

An overlooked major change in NCC 2022 is the decrease in the allowable lead content in plumbing products that come into contact with drinking water. Soon, only those products that meet the lead-free requirements will be permitted in all plumbing installations across Australia.
