Keeping you up-to-date with the latest news, insights and advice across your region.

Over the past week, many members have received supplier notices outlining significant cost increases across building materials, skips, and plant and equipment hire. These rises—partly driven by Middle East uncertainty and higher domestic fuel prices—are creating concern about impacts on project budgets and existing contracts.

HIA is actively monitoring the situation and engaging with Federal and State Governments, along with major suppliers. These discussions focus on representing member concerns and identifying ways to manage impacts on current and future projects.

To support members, HIA has developed a fact sheet outlining key contract considerations and clauses to help address cost increases.

Dealing with cost increases

Members with questions about current or upcoming contracts are encouraged to contact their local HIA Contracts and Compliance Adviser on 1300 650 620.
