NCC 2025 condensation management changes

NCC 2025 increases minimum requirements for wall and roof ventilation to reduce condensation risk, with greater impacts in colder climate zones.
{{ tag.label }} {{ tag.label }} $vuetify.icons.faTimes

More stringent requirements for wall construction and roof ventilation designed to mitigate condensation have been introduced by NCC 2025. These changes affect how control layers, cavities and ventilation openings are designed and installed, and will impact many common construction methods.

Learn which building classes are affected and the new wall and roof provisions. Discover when drained and ventilated cavities are required, the updated vapour permeance requirements, and revised methods for calculating roof ventilation areas. This handy resource also highlights exemptions and differences between pitched, raked and cathedral ceiling roofs.

With NCC 2025 adoption varying by state and territory, understanding these changes early can help avoid design conflicts, compliance issues and costly rework on site. Get clear guidance on how the new condensation management rules may affect your upcoming projects and documentation.
