Transition to lead-free plumbing products extended
The move to lead free plumbing products is still coming, but the transition period for installation has been extended until 1 May 2028 to ease supply pressures and give industry more time to adjust. From 1 May 2026, product manufacturers will no longer receive certification for products that come into contact with drinking water that do not meet the new strict lead limits.
