Queensland amendments to QDC MP4.1 – Sustainable Buildings
The new pathways could provide greater flexibility for some Queensland projects, including reduced NatHERS ratings in certain circumstances. But whether a home qualifies depends on specific requirements around floor area, construction type, location and thermal performance.
There are also changes to outdoor living area credits, including a new 900 mm clearance requirement that could affect whether some patios, balconies and verandahs qualify. Builders, designers and certifiers will need to understand the new requirements before relying on a pathway or credit.
