Floor wastes in bathrooms when are they required

Two of the most common questions received regarding bathrooms and laundries are does that room need a floor waste and does the floor need to fall to it?
{{ tag.label }} {{ tag.label }} $vuetify.icons.faTimes

As this resource explains, there are two primary documents that apply when constructing a wet area: the National Construction Code (NCC) and the Australian Standard AS 3740 – Waterproofing of domestic wet areas. Both documents contain information pertaining to materials and methods required when waterproofing.

The resource outlines the requirements contained in the NCC across Volumes 1 and 2. It also provides information on associated plumbing and drainage requirements in the Plumbing Code of Australia (PCA) for floor waste gullies.

This resource clarifies when a floor waste is required and what the floor grading requirements are.
