Cleaning up of bushfire-affected areas

The New South Wales Government has announced it will provide a free clean-up service for properties damaged by bushfire. Information is available so you can find out if you qualify for assistance.

Properties damaged by bushfire can be dangerous and can contain risks not normally present on a construction site. The NSW Government’s free clean-up service is available to all insured and uninsured residences and businesses affected by bushfire.

Home owners, businesses and building professionals may decide to undertake clean-up operations themselves. But they should be aware that removing waste from a bushfire-affected property may affect their registration and their eligibility to use the government’s clean-up service.

Links are provided in this resource to further safety information made available by WorkSafe NSW and to a clean-up registration page on the Service NSW website.
