Managing the risk of falls: SA WHS changes webinar
Under the changes which took effect on 1 July, South Australian builders must now ensure a SWMS is in place whenever a worker is at risk of falling more than 2 metres. The SWMS must be developed in consultation with workers before any high-risk work begins and made readily available on site. Businesses will also need to determine, document and implement measures to reduce fall risk, so far as is reasonably practicable.
WHS safety changes: HIA expert webinar
HIA recently delivered a successful free webinar providing South Australian members with an update on the recent changes to the WHS high-risk construction work threshold relating to falls.
In the 30-minute webinar, members received advice on:
- what has changed and importantly, what hasn't
- what the changes look like in practice on site
- what the new requirements mean for businesses
- managing the risk of falls from any height
- Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and their application.
