Home Efficiency Construction Roadshows

Advancing sustainable homes through low-emission building training.

Attend one of our upcoming sessions that focusses on energy efficiency changes and home energy compliance.

You will learn about:

  • An understanding of the factors that influence energy rating.
  • Awareness of working examples and case studies of new building design.
  • Understanding the strategies required to achieve a higher performance from a typical 6-star building fabric, including implications for materials and building techniques.
  • Knowledge of the interactions between fabric and appliance efficiency, appliance combinations, and the role of photovoltaics in achieving the whole of home energy use budget.
  • Understanding the importance of early-stage involvement, and tips for lowest cost compliance.
  • Insights into the future direction of energy efficiency, and home electrification.

If you are carrying out work in an eligible trade or profession in the residential construction industry in Victoria, you may be eligible for this fee-free training. There will be a range of course delivery options including virtual and face to face sessions in metro and regional areas.

Who would do this training?

If you are carrying out work in an eligible trade or profession in the residential construction industry in Victoria, you may be eligible for this fee-free training.

This course is relevant for the following eligible participants:
  • Victorians or employees of companies who work in Victoria
  • Practitioners who are registered with the Victorian Building Authority (VBA) including:
    • Building Inspectors
    • Building Surveyors
    • Residential Builders
    • Draftspersons
    • Project Managers
    • Quantity Surveyors
  • Trades and professions involved in energy efficiency including site managers, electricians, plumbers etc.
  • Owner builders
  • Students completing construction related training courses
  • Fourth year apprentices.
  • Other cohorts with a demonstrable link to the Victorian construction industry who play a role in the design and/ or construction of energy efficient homes and/ or improve the capacity of the industry to design and/ or construct energy efficient homes.
