Regulatory requirements for the timber framing standards within the Building Code of Australia make this course a “must do” for industry personnel involved with timber framed homes or extensions.

This course will assist participants in understanding the current timber framing standards and outline the building regulations and the content of AS1684.2 (non-cyclonic regions classification), whilst guiding participants through practical exercises using real life house plans.

On successful completion of this short course you will be issued with a HIA Statement of Completion.

To start this program, you must have:

  • a good understanding of English reading and writing; and communication skills
  • the ability to research, access and interpret complex documents
  • numeracy skills to apply calculations
  • knowledge of building terminology
