2022 HIA Australian Bathroom of the Year

Winner: Ultraspace and John Cardillo Building Services, Queensland
Ultraspace and John Cardillo Building Services from Queensland created an award-winning bathroom to secure the coveted title of the 2022 HIA Australian Bathroom of the Year.
The bathroom, located on a secluded island, pushed the builder to the limits of possibility. Uninterrupted views from the bath can be enjoyed by opening a custom window with retractable panels and innovative privacy at a switch of a button. A work of art, the vanity has thermoformed sides, drawers and top. The large oval mirrors hinge open to reveal extra deep storage.
A decorative divider between the ensuite and hallway is lengths of sisal rope secured from floor to ceiling. The use of cohesive finishes creates a serene space. Faultless in design and construction, this space combines practical high-end materials and sophisticated techniques, inspiring the judges to award this bathroom with top marks.
The accolade was announced on 23 April during the 2022 HIA–CSR Australian Housing Awards presentation on the Gold Coast.
The HIA Australian Bathroom of the Year award partnered by Dulux recognises quality workmanship in the manufacture and installation of a complete single, residential bathroom.
The prestigious HIA awards program is the ultimate platform to showcase those who excel in building exceptional homes, kitchens and bathrooms, and continues to offer HIA members the opportunity to receive public recognition for their hard work.
