Winner: Jethro Urwin - APEX WA Carpentry Solutions
Jethro has been a HIA host since 2015 and currently trains an apprentice team of three, with two others having recently completed their apprenticeship.
His proactive approach to training has his apprentices thriving under his guidance. During the training process, Jethro progresses apprentices onto new and complex tasks once they have a grasp on their existing skills. In his development of leadership skills, Jethro imparts the importance of passing on knowledge and really encourages his more experienced apprentices to train the newer ones.
Beyond the day-to-day training and development of trade skills, Jethro also mentors his apprentices in business skills such as setting up their own subcontractor business.
