Craig Linke Bespoke Building from South Australia created an award-winning kitchen to secure the 2023 HIA Australian Kitchen of the Year award partnered by Robam Kitchen Appliances.
The accolade was announced on 20 May during the 2023 HIA-CSR Australian Housing Awards presentation on Hamilton Island.
The eclectically renovated kitchen provides an explosive mix of materials, colours and textures, with the room presenting a striking and daring statement as intended.
A large twin cylinder rangehood, hand-wrapped in aged brass and suspended within a custom brass canopy, is a significant building innovation. Underneath, a distinctive grey granite island includes an integrated cooktop, push to close drawers and bar seating, with a solid granite sink mitred seamlessly down from the benchtop.
Decadent stormy sea-green marble in the oversized splashback and rear servery vividly contrasts with the walnut timber veneer cabinetry, its warming effect enriched by 50mm aged brass strips and pull handles. Underfoot, the floor was carefully crafted with marble offcuts, with a light grey terrazzo infill of white dove stone and gold chips also added in.
Top of the line integrated appliances combine technology and convenience for the owners, such as built-in cameras and basting functions in the oven that can be remotely controlled. All of these features combine to create a spectacular entertainer’s kitchen guaranteed to be enjoyed for years to come.
HIA Managing Director Graham Wolfe said the HIA-CSR Australian Housing Awards recognise the best in Australia’s residential building industry.
“HIA is committed to recognising the outstanding achievements of our members. The HIA-CSR Australian Housing Awards allow us to acknowledge their skill and their commitment to quality in design, material selection and construction. Our Awards’ program brings together members who excel in building exceptional homes, kitchens and bathrooms and run highly successful businesses.
“HIA Award winners build with exceptional workmanship; demonstrated in projects that push the boundaries in design and innovation. It is my absolute pleasure to congratulate each winner for their hard work and commitment to excellence,” Mr Wolfe added.
The HIA Australian Kitchen of the Year award acknowledges quality of workmanship in the manufacture and installation of a complete single, residential kitchen.
