2023 HIA Australian Townhouse / Villa Development

HIA-CSR Australian Housing Awards

Winner: Futureflip

New South Wales builder Futureflip was announced as the winner of the 2023 HIA Australian Townhouse/Villa Development, partnered by Brickworks, for an incredible two-storey duplex development which offers sublime resort-style living on the NSW South Coast’s Werri Beach.

It was constructed to embrace the beauty of its location but also withstand its abrasive coastal environment. From the tactile, organic beauty of the limestone feature walls and exposed Victorian-Ash ceilings to the cedar-lined concealed garages and recycled brick, all materials were chosen to create high-performing, durable homes requiring little upkeep.
Skylights and glass ceilings on the top level ensure a huge amount of natural light infiltrates the 7-star development, which also includes a concealed rooftop terrace garden.

One of the standout features is a bespoke timber and glass staircase, with a wine cellar beneath, while to the rear of the residence, an open terrace, outdoor kitchen and a Plungie pool invites the occupants to unwind.

The judges were impressed by the perseverance, planning and innovative thinking of the builder to achieve the level of detail and high-quality finish presented in these homes.
The HIA–CSR Australian Housing Awards illustrate the talents of the nation’s top builders and designers. Winners are selected from state-based finalists, with awards in 23 separate categories.

Winners were announced during the 2023 HIA–CSR Australian Housing Awards presentation on 20 May on Hamilton Island.
