Townhouse / Villa of the Year

HIA-CSR ACT and Southern NSW Housing and Kitchen & Bathroom Awards

Winner: Antos Constructions and Architects Ring & Associates

Located in the sought-after suburb of Braddon ACT sits an impressive townhouse with its own garage, direct access and immediately feels like an individual home. This urban home bathes in natural light with large north facing windows. The north-east orientation of this development allowed intuitive solar design which helped achieve higher than minimum energy ratings for this luxurious abode. The creative design of the development allows two separate areas at the front and rear of the home, which allows cross ventilation and natural light to all rooms within. This stunning three-story townhouse has the Master bedroom on the top level with access by lift, this bedroom has a balcony to enjoy the elevated views and natural light and ventilation. The third floor was possible through careful design in consideration to solar access for the adjoining neighbouring block, which resulted in the articulated roof form. A neutral colour palette and effortless design ensures this home is sympathetic to the surrounding streetscape and area. The materials used on the built form, concrete panels, glass, aluminum panels and timber, were chosen for their little to no maintenance creating a sophisticated look and effortless living. Judges commended the good design, attention to detail and the quality of construction.
