Projects will be judged according to:

| Design effectiveness including environmental sustainability | 20 |
| Innovation | 15 |
| Visual and market appeal | 15 |

- The home may be tailored to suit the needs of the client and the site.
- Details of the original design the resulting home is based off must be provided with the entry.
- A home cannot be entered into more than one category of either Display Home, Custom Built Home, Project Home or Spec Home. Please select the category that best suits the project.

Entries are submitted into the regional awards based on the geographical location of each project:

Projects in the HIA-CSR Hunter Housing Awards must be located in postcodes 2250 to 2428 (excluding 2339 - 2348, 2350 - 2361, 2365, 2369 - 2372, 2379 - 2382, 2386 - 2390, 2395, 2396 - 2411, 2424, 2426, 2427).
