Completion dates must be between Monday 2 May 2022 and Friday 5 May 2023.

Great Southern Excellence in Service categories

  • Large Builder
  • Medium Builder
  • Small Builder

Judging criteria

This award will be judged according to the response of an independent survey of the builder’s clients.

Clients will be asked to judge the following:

  • Builder’s participation in the design process
  • Ease of communication and service prior to commencement of construction
  • Professionalism of supervision
  • Communication throughout construction
  • Quality of workmanship throughout the finished product
  • How responsive was the builder to requests and changes during the construction?
  • Did construction time meet with your expectations?
  • Quality of service after hand over
  • Did the finished home represent value for money?
  • Did the final project result meet your expectations?
  • A minimum of 25 per cent of the distributed surveys must be returned for small and medium builders, 20 per cent for large builders.

HIA encourage builder entrants to make direct contact with their clients to encourage the return of client surveys.

HIA will advise builder entrants of:

  1. The date of their survey distribution
  2. The percentage return rate of client surveys two weeks prior to surveys being due back to HIA.

Notes:

  1. HIA will provide the entrant with their total average score after the announcement of the awards only if requested in writing by the entrant.
  2. HIA will only resend electronic surveys to the contact details provided in the spreadsheet in the form of a reminder email once. Hard copy surveys will not be resent.
  3. HIA cannot advise entrants of their percentage return rate after their initial two week notification. No further correspondence will be entered into.
  4. HIA will not disclose which clients have and have not responded.
  5. If the client does not have an email address please provide a postal address (No lot numbers).
  6. HIA cannot alter any lists once the survey process has commenced.
  7. Any requested changes prior to the commencement of the survey process must be made in writing to HIA Events and are subject to approval.
  8. To ensure the builder and HIA do not breach the Privacy Act, builders must provide HIA with appropriate quantities of letterhead and full client details. The builder warrants they are authorised to disclose their client’s details to HIA for the purpose of carrying out this survey.
