How to enter HIA Awards

Spotlight your best project and align your work with excellence

HIA Awards is the perfect opportunity to raise your profile with future clients and the residential building industry at large. Preparing your entry requires putting together project materials, but don't worry - it's worth it.

There are a few things to consider before you enter:

  • take a look at any projects you've completed in the past 24 months to help you decide which ones to enter
  • seek the homeowner’s permission.

Next up, follow these easy steps:

  1. Visit our Awards section and select your region - based on where the project is located.
  2. Choose your Awards program for entry fees, closing dates, categories, etc.
  3. Select the category that best defines your project. If available, you’ll also need to work out which sub-category
    – or price point your project fits into based on the project price.
  4. Book your professional photographer and check the photographic requirements.
  5. View the checklist and ensure you have digital copies of each item to upload into your entry.
  6. Finally, check that you comply with the Conditions of entry, then hit Enter now.

Remember, submissions can be copied into an additional category without the need to re-upload documents. Just make sure to say you want to enter another award category before you check out of your cart.

Additional entry fees apply.

What we got out of the HIA Awards

HIA members share the benefits of participating in the HIA Awards program in this feature. "Winning increased our recognition in the industry. Straight away it positioned us an award-winning builder and gave us a competitive edge," multiple award-winner Jacqueline says.

"The construction industry is a very competitive place, especially in the renovation space. Having that HIA Awards logo next to your projects says a lot to a potential customer when they're choosing a builder," Illan explains. "We have leveraged the wins on social media and various platforms," he adds. "It's a big part of how we market our business and instill trust," fellow award winner Matt remarks.

Bringing hardworking teams together to celebrate their achievements is another huge plus of participating in the HIA Awards. "A big part of it is for our team culture," Illan says. "Even just becoming a finalist, everyone gets excited in the office," Illan adds. "The recognition that comes with it from your peers, colleagues, suppliers in the industry ... they're all so proud to be associated with you as a brand," Matt explains. "It is a great celebration of the industry."
