Judging criteria
Projects will be judged according to:

| Design appearance and innovation | 15 |
| Movement and access | 10 |
| Lighting and ventilation | 5 |
| Fixtures and fittings | 5 |
| Specification and presentation drawings | 10 |
Note:
Where new and renovated categories are offered, a new bathroom is a bathroom in a new home or a bathroom in a renovation project where the space for the bathroom is a new part of the home. A renovated bathroom is a new bathroom built in an existing space within a residential building.
Competition area by postcode
Entries are submitted into the regional awards based on the geographical location of each project:

Projects in the HIA-CSR Hunter Housing Awards must be located in postcodes 2250 to 2428 (excluding 2339 - 2348, 2350 - 2361, 2365, 2369 - 2372, 2379 - 2382, 2386 - 2390, 2395, 2396 - 2411, 2424, 2426, 2427).
