This single-storey dwelling is set on 13.5 acres in the Byron Hinterland with panoramic views from Cape Byron Lighthouse to Broken Head. The house itself is slab on ground with steel and timber framing completing the structure. The exterior of the building is clad in recycled hardwood with a pre-aged treatment and roofed in aluminium standing seam.
Inside, the floors and walls are lined with recycled blackbutt, whilst the expressed laminated hardwood ceiling beams create a naturally warm and inviting living space. Overcoming the challenge of fabricating the custom made aluminium sliding doors and windows onsite and the high level of detailed timber work across such a large building footprint resulted in a breathtaking home.
