2021 Building Women Awards
Winner: Sarah Mort - MiHaven
With over 35 years industry experience Sarah Mort is the co-founder and director of Mi Haven - a social enterprise business specialising in property development and construction, student and Specialist Disability housing and an industry-based RTO training facility. At the age of 30, Sarah was the first female Project Manager employed by Multiplex Construction, and the project manager of the $300m Wharf Woolloomooloo redevelopment. It’s not possible to list all of Sarah’s achievements over the last ten years but to highlight a few includess delivering the first employment training model for indigenous carpentry apprentices, the first purpose built social housing for women and families in Far North Queensland, the first specialist disability housing in Cairns and the list goes on.
