Victorian builders continue to face difficult and unpredictable conditions. There has been some good news in recent times: the need for more housing remains incredibly high, and the Reserve Bank has begun to cut interest rates.

But sweeping changes to building regulations have been flagged by the Victorian Government, and it remains to be seen how a potential global trade war will affect the residential building industry.

At HIA’s June 2025 Industry Outlook Breakfast, Stuart Moseley, Deputy Secretary of Housing, Building and Land Delivery at the Department of Transport and Planning, will provide an update on planning reforms and how they will impact on the residential building industry.

HIA’s Economics team will also discuss the latest data and help make sense of the conditions builders and suppliers are likely to face in the short to medium term. Don’t miss out, reserve your table today!
