NCC 2022 is the largest amendment to the building code since its inception. A number of the changes have already commenced and stirring up lots of questions. 

The next stage of NCC 2022 changes including the 7 stars equivalent BASIX changes and more stringent whole of home energy efficiency requirements and condensation provisions are scheduled to take effect later this year. 

But what does this all mean for the design and construction of future homes and apartments and for those designing, building, approving and supplying products to these buildings?

HIA is running a dedicated NCC 2022 changes seminar – covering the who, when, where, what and how of these provisions. 

This session will bring together a range of experts to provide a detailed breakdown of the new requirements, covering:

  • what changes are already in effect and what is causing the most confusion
  • when the major changes take effect and any state variations
  • case studies and worked examples of meeting the 7-star equivalence BASIX requirements
  • tips and tricks to cost effectively meet the new requirements
  • application of the new energy efficiency whole of home provisions, embodied emissions reporting and thermal bridging changes
  • contemporary materials and solutions to meet the new requirements
  • different NCC compliance options
  • the forgotten third reform area – the condensation management changes
  • the latest information on the livable housing changes
  • a FAQ session on key interpretation questions that are arising.
