HIA is proud to be working with Sustainability Victoria and the Victorian Government to bring you training on designing and building energy efficient homes.
The 6-to-7-star Design Training will provide information on how to design an affordable energy-efficient home, with a whole-of-home approach, including:
- The bigger picture - Zero net carbon economy by 2050 and the trajectory for low energy buildings
- The costs and benefits of building a 7-star home with a Whole-of-Home assessment
- Passive solar design principles and the importance of orientation
- Thermal bridges and how to avoid them in designs
- Glazing types, costs, and benefits
- Energy efficiency ratings for appliances, what they mean and what the benefits and costs are
These design sessions are appropriate for building designers, energy assessors and builders who work closely with homeowners and their designers throughout the design and construction process.

This training is funded by Sustainability Victoria and the Victorian Government, there is no cost for attendees.
This training is designed and delivered by Sustainability Victoria on behalf of the Victorian Government. The 7 Star Design and Construction Training is hosted by HIA in collaboration with Sustainability Victoria and the Victorian Government as part of the 7 Star Homes program.
