CPD Points

2023 continues to be a year of unprecedented change for Victorian builders. The most significant update to the National Construction Code in decades is coming into effect, and regulatory changes including new rules for registration and licensing are expected to be announced too.

HIA ran a series of workshops on these important topics in March this year, and due to popular demand, a new run of dates is being offered in July.

NCC 2022 taking effect for Victorian builders

On May 1 this year, all provisions of NCC 2022 took effect except for energy efficiency, condensation mitigation and livable housing. Those provisions will come into force as early as October 1 this year, and the way new homes are designed and built across Victoria will change substantially.

At this workshop, HIA’s Technical Services team will provide an overview on all of the NCC 2022 changes, delivering expert advice on what the new requirements are and how you can navigate them on your projects.

Major registration and licensing changes expected

Registration and licensing of trades is back on the Victorian Government’s agenda. So are possible new laws for building surveyors, developers and even site supervisors.

HIA’s Workplace Services team will bring attendees up to speed on what you need to know about the Government’s proposed changes and how they are likely to affect your business, employees and contractors.
